Jacob contended with his brother Esau from the time before they were born. Jacob cheats his brother out of his birthright. Why would God let this happen? In God’s mercy He works with people of flawed character and works with them throughout their lifetime to grow in godly character. We also see God working the same way with us along our spiritual journey.
