Episode Notes

Here are a series of reflective questions for you on this evening's sermon in Ecclesiastes 4:
1. In what ways have you personally felt the weight of oppression or injustice, whether in society or in your own life? How did it affect you?
2. How often do you find yourself caught in the cycle of envious toil, working primarily to keep up with others rather than focusing on what truly matters? What steps can you take to break free?
3. Do you experience loneliness or isolation despite being seemingly connected via social media and technology? How does Ecclesiastes 4:7-8 speak into your situation?
4. Think about your relationships. Are they rooted in mutual support and shared labor, as highlighted in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12? If not, what changes could you make to foster such companionship?
5. As you consider the leaders in your life or even your own leadership roles, how does the wisdom of Ecclesiastes 4:13-16 challenge or affirm your views on what makes a good leader?
6. Are you actively pursuing divine wisdom through God's Word, prayer, and godly counsel? What steps can you commit to for deepening your understanding of God's wisdom?
7. In what ways are you focusing on storing up treasures in heaven rather than getting caught in the rat race of earthly achievements?
8. How does the notion of resting in Christ’s accomplishments resonate with you? Do you find peace in knowing that He has done what you could never accomplish on your own?
9. After hearing this sermon, how do you plan to apply the teachings of Ecclesiastes 4:1-16 in your everyday life?
10. Lastly, does the ultimate wisdom found in Jesus Christ change how you view the existential questions raised in Ecclesiastes? If so, how?
Use these questions to deeply ponder the message of Ecclesiastes 4:1-16 and its application to your life, particularly in light of the wisdom and work of Christ.
