Encouragement: coming alongside someone to give assistance Comfort: 4 But[a] God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved (Eph 2:4-5) Fellowship: participation in the Spirit Affection and sympathy, Philippians 2:2-4 2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. What are we to think the same about? The glory of God. The evangelization of the lost The unification of the church. The Same Love we should all love God. the same love for our neighbor Love for the Body Two attitudes for unity Humility: lowliness of mind Esteeming others as more important than yourself.
