Pharaoh angrily allows the nation of Israel to leave after God’s ultimate show of supremacy—the death of the 1st born. The nation of Israel leaves from Egypt on the first leg of their journey to the promised land. But there is some unfinished business with Pharaoh. The Jews have suffered under the inhumane, cruel treatment of Pharaoh for years. This culminated with the infanticide of killing babies by throwing them into the Nile river. The message that God is communicating to not only Egypt but the ungodly countries in the promised land will not be complete without the final judgment on Pharaoh. Let’s see the coup de grace applied in the judgment of water. And no, it isn’t that Israel knew where the Red Sea was shallow.
