Love, Perfected The Letters of John 1 John 3:1-10 1 John 3:1a See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3 begins with the bold exclamation that many bible translations don’t include: Behold! Then, to further declare the bold and wonderful truth that God loves us, John uses the Greek term potapen (translated as “what” in the NIV), which means “of what country?” God’s love is so unusual, so unearthly, so unique that it leads John to exclaim, “Behold this love! Of what country is this?” This love is so great in fact, that it cannot remain merely felt or experienced, it must be expressed. Join us this week as we see how God’s love leads us to respond!
