For many Christians who grew up in Christian homes, it is easy to become rule keepers. They have less perceived sin than those who came from non-Christian homes. Less sinful experiences tend to make us think we are better rule keepers and besides, when you are a rule keeper, you tend to call other people's attentions to the rule breakers around instead of the one within.
