For many, Proverbs 31 is thought of a the "Holy Grail of Biblical femininity", but was Proverbs 31 meant to be a list that a woman uses as a grading sheet to determine her worth? Was it meant to be a cattle prod by which a husband spurs his wife toward godliness? On the contrary, this was actually meant to be list by which a man would use to praise a woman, be it a husband that praises his wife, and son that praises his mother, a father that praises his daughter, and a brother that praises a sister. This is the beauty of all of the godliest women of all time, culminating into this poetic Hebrew acrostic, giving us a glimpse into what Jesus sings over his bride- the church!
