In chapter three of Acts Peter and John were going in to the temple and saw a crippled man there begging. They told him “silver and gold have I none in the name of Jesus rise up and walk.” And he got up healed of his lameness. The Jewish council didn’t like the attention that Peter and John were getting and how they gave Jesus Christ credit for the healing and accused the apostles of putting Jesus death on their heads. The name of Jesus offended them and it still offends people today.
