Abide means to dwell with or be in union with or to be one with. Our spouse abides with us. We are one flesh. Christ abides with us means He is with us and we abide in Christ which means we are in Christ or a part of Him…one in Christ like a marriage unites two into one Christ unites His church into Him. Same beliefs, same goals, same outcome….. to glorify God. People today lack confidence in their government, in their families, in their news media, in their products, in their religions. We can have confidence in Christ because we abide in Him and He in us.1
