As we celebrate and look at the events of Palm Sunday, We can ask ourselves this question What choice did the people make as the shouted hosanna? Did they really choose Jesus…… or did they just want something to change? John 12:12-13 (kjv) 12 on the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, hosanna: blessed is the king of Israel that cometh in the name of the lord. Hosanna is a word that means save now One week before Jesus went to the cross, crowds of people were crying out to Jesus Hosanna – save us now _____________________________________________________________ Unknowingly, they were calling for Jesus to do what he was born to do Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Jesus was born to save his people But not from what they wanted to be saved from So it is important to see that, we can be saying something that sounds like it is agreeing with the word of god but still be far away from its intended meaning Salvation, when we receive it, does not save us from everything For the Christian ….. After salvation ……….. The goal is Holiness ……through Sanctification , Not the Elimination of all problems
