How do you celebrate Christmas? Our traditions may vary from family to family, but most there are some consistencies. In our Advent text for today, Matthew 3:1-12, John the Baptizer gives us a better way to celebrate the coming of our Lord. What is it? Repent! Things are not as they should be in our world, and neither is our repentance. But Jesus promises to gather us baptized Christians, half-donkey'd repentance and all, into His presence forever.
