A Hilariously Salty Story

What does it cost to follow Jesus? In our Gospel text from Luke 14:25-35, Jesus tells us the cost...and it's too high. His demands reveal our inability, and "our inability is the occasion of His power." In counting the cost and coming up empty-handed, we are found to have exactly the right amount. Jesus came for those who can't come to Him. He raises the dead and only the dead. He forgives sinners and only sinners. Good News: that's us. It's one hilariously salty story.
