Psalms 84:2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

Episode Notes

Under the Old Covenant, God’s people were allowed to go only so far into the tabernacle itself. They could not go into the Most Holy Place (the Holy of Holies) where God’s presence actually dwelled at the mercy seat. The only ones who were allowed to do that were the High Priests and he had to go in with a bell tied around his waist so the people could tell whether he was still alive.

As believers on this side of the cross, we can enter the very presence of God at any time.

When Jesus died, God supernaturally split the veil of the tabernacle from top to bottom (Mk. 15:38).

Jesus’s sacrifice on the Cross permanently removed the barrier between God and man thereby giving us access into the Holy Presence of God.

We have a privilege that Old Testament saints never knew.
