A Quiet Heart

Psalm 23:2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.
Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will
be honored throughout the world.”
Psalm 37:7 Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t

1) A quiet heart starts with a good understanding of WHO GOD IS.
Isaiah 40:25-26

Light travels at 186,000 miles per second.
Traveling at the speed of light you can reach:
 The moon in 1.3 seconds
 The sun in 8 minutes
 Cross the length of our solar system in 10 hours
Traveling 186,000 miles per second for one year=1 light year
To travel from the sun to the center of our galaxy= 30,000 light years
To travel across our Milky Way Galaxy= 100,000 light years
The nearest galaxy of comparable size to our Milky Way Galaxy is the
Andromeda Galaxy.

 To travel to Andromeda Galaxy would take 2.7 million light years.
The Milky Way Galaxy contains 100 billion stars.
 Over 2 million galaxies have been counted in our visible universe.
 There could be as many as 100 million galaxies in the visible universe.
 The visible universe is over 15,000 million light years in size.

Isaiah 40:25-26 To whom then will you compare me, that I should be like him? says the
Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out
their host by number, calling them all by name, by the greatness of his might, and
because he is strong in power not one is missing.

Isaiah 40:27 (ESV) Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, “My way is hidden
from the Lord, and my right is disregarded by my God”?

Isaiah 40:27 (MSG) Why would you ever complain, O Jacob, or, whine, Israel, saying,
“GOD has lost track of me. He doesn’t care what happens to me”?

Psalm 37:23 The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their
Isaiah 40:28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting
God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his
understanding is unsearchable.

2) A quiet heart comes when we respond in FAITH and receive HIS
WORK in our lives.
Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he
increases strength.
Isaiah 40:31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they
shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
