UNSHAKEABLE - 1

Hebrews 12:28 (ESV) Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, 29 for our God is a consuming fire.

1. We are STRATEGICALLY ENGAGED.

• So much of prayer these days is done to make us FEEL BETTER.

• Ultimately, God is calling us to pray so the WORLD IS BETTER.

1. We are in a SPIRITUAL BATTLE.

Ephesians 6:12 (ESV) For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Genesis 28:12 (ESV) And he dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it!

2 Kings 6:16 (ESV) He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

1. We have SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY.

• Prayer is the salient agency whereby heaven INTERACTS with earth.

Matthew 16:19 (ESV) I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Matthew 18:18 (ESV) Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Matthew 6:9-10 (ESV) Pray then like this:

“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
10 Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
    on earth as it is in heaven.

• Prayer is the BRIDGE between heaven and earth. Let’s USE it.

Prayer Points:

People are excited about what excites God.

Luke 15:7 (ESV) Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

Each of us has the courage to stand up for Christ and share their faith.

Ephesians 6:20 (ESV) for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

People will not grow tired in doing what God has called them to do.

Galatians 6:9 (ESV) And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Each of us is mentally sharp, staying focused on God, being unshaken by events around us.

Psalm 55:22 (NAS) Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you;
He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
