Episode Notes
Choices That Will Change Your Life:
Choice 1: Choosing to transform instead of transfer.
Choice 2: Choosing to be OK with not being OK.
Genesis 3:7 At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
• It’s possible that your desire to HIDE is greater than your desire to CHANGE.
• From the very moment humanity fell into sin, God’s plan, God’s passion has been to REDEEM us and RESTORE us to the life for which we were made.
Psalm 32:1-7 Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight!
2 Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!
3 When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.
4 Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat.
5 Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.
6 Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time, that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment.
7 For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory.
Psalm 32:1 Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight!
• Confession isn’t DOING something about your sin; rather, it means admitting that we can’t DO anything about our sin.
Psalm 32:3 When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.
Matthew 23:27-28 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
• In this church, we want to honor HONESTY and confession above the appearance of PERFECTION.
Psalm 32:7 For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory.
"Time is not the healer but the revealer of the healing that only God can do." -Dr. Ravi Zacharias
Final thought: It’s OK to not be OK; it’s just not OK to STAY THAT WAY.
