WHAT GOES WRONG IN A MARRIAGE – THE MYTHS WE BUY INTO
1. The myth of COMPATIBILITY.

“So called incompatibility is a myth invented by jurists in order to plead for divorce. It is
likewise just a common excuse for people to use to hide their own failings.
Misunderstandings and mistakes can be corrected when there is a willingness to do so.
The issue is not incompatibility; the issue is selfishness, stubbornness, unwilling to
compromise, unwilling to change, unwilling to work to save the relationship. Don’t call it

Romance -> Reality -> Rut -> Resentment -> Regret
The 3 Stages of Marriage:
1. The HONEYMOON Stage. (Song of Solomon 4)
2. The DESPAIR Stage. (Proverbs 27)

· Break THROUGH
3. The DEEPER LOVE Stage. (1 Corinthians 13)
· Love is not an emotion you FEEL but a state you CREATE.
Key Steps:
1. OPEN up.
