“I Have Decided to Unfollow Jesus”

John 6:54-55 (NIV) Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.

John 6:60 (NIV) On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is hard teaching, who can accept it?”

John 6:61 (NIV) Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you?

John 6:67 (NIV) “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.

John 6:68 (NIV) Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go?”

1.  When you choose to unfollow Jesus you choose to follow something or someone else.

John 6:68 (NIV) Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go?” You have the words of eternal life.

2.  When you unfollow Jesus, the day will come when you wish you could come back to the day when you did and change your mind.

John 6:69 (NIV) We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.

3. Transition, temptation and trouble always create questions…but that doesn’t mean there aren’t answers.

·     Come back to the question: To whom shall I go?

·     Consider the options.

Final Thought:  Salvation is free, it cost you nothing. Following Christ will cost you something. Refusing to follow Christ, will cost you everything.
