Jesus the Teacher

Matthew 13:54 When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, "Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works?

 

Matthew 22:33 And when the multitudes heard this, they were astonished at His teaching.

 

I. He taught authoritatively

 

Matthew 7:28-29 And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, 29 for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

 

John 7:45-46 Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, "Why have you not brought Him?" 46 The officers answered, "No man ever spoke like this Man!"

 

A. Jesus spoke authoritatively because He reveals the heart of the Father.

 

B. Jesus spoke authoritatively because He was and is truth.

 

II. He taught practically

 

A. Jesus taught useful things.

 

B. Jesus taught foundational things.

 

III. He taught graphically

 

A. Jesus painted pictures.

 

B. Jesus told stories.
