JESUS IS __________

(1 Corinthians 2:1-2 Message) “You’ll remember, friends, that when I first came to you, I didn’t try to impress you with polished speeches and the latest philosophy. I deliberately kept it plain and simple: first Jesus and who he is; then Jesus and what he did--Jesus crucified.”

THE LAMB

(John 1:29) The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

(1 Corinthians 5:7) “...For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.”

The Lamb was perfect.

(Exodus 12:5) “The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats.”

(1 Peter 1:18-19) “(You were redeemed)...with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”

The Lamb was sacrificed.

(Exodus 12:6) “Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the people of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.”

(2 Corinthians 4:8-10) “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.”

(Exodus 29:38-39) “This is what you are to offer on the altar regularly each day: two lambs a year old. Offer one in the morning and the other at twilight.”

(Hebrews 10:10-11) “And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.”

The Lamb was shared.

(Exodus 12:4) “If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor.”

(2 Corinthians 5:19) “God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”
