JESUS CHANGED EVERYTHING

Jesus Made Possible:

1. Our JUSTIFICATION. We are JUSTIFIED.

Justification is the act of pronouncing one righteous. The declaration of acquittal.

Galatians 2:15-16 (NIV)                                                                    15 “We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles 16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

2. Our REGENERATION. We are BORN AGAIN.

Regeneration is the act of spiritual renewal or revival.

2 Corinthians 5:17                                                                            17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Ezekiel 36:26-27                                                                                         26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

3. Our ADOPTION. We are SONS & DAUGHTERS.

Romans 8:15                                                                                            15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

JUSTIFICATION, REGENERATION, ADOPTION gave us POSITIONAL HOLINESS (An Act of God on Our Behalf)

4. Our SANCTIFICATION. We are continually MADE HOLY.

Colossians 3:1-10

3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

Sanctification is a process

Process of Sanctification:

Continual Mindset Renewal

Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Continual Murder of Yourself

Colossians 3:5

5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

SANCTIFICATION gave us RELATIONAL HOLINESS. (A Spirit-Filled Movement Towards the Things Of God)

FINAL THOUGHT:

You Become What You Behold.
