How To Get Through What You’re Going Through

STRUGGLE IS INEVIDABLE.

3 Stages of Faith Development:

  • CONFIDENT Faith – Our Faith is new and vibrant.

  • CHALLANGED Faith – Is anything happening?; are my prayers getting through? Am I actually going to make it through this?

  • LIVING Faith - Strong faith… no matter what … deep abiding faith in Christ.

WHAT were going through is important; but not nearly

as important as HOW we’re getting through it.

John 16:33 (NIV)

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Main Text: Exodus 32:1-10 (NIV)

Exodus 32:1 (NIV)

When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.”

  • Delays show our level of SPIRITUAL MATURITY and where we have need for it.

  • The children of Israel where willing to trust a god they could make to FINISH what the Lord BEGAN.

Philippians 1:6 (NIV)

6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:3 (NIV)

3 Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?

Exodus 32:2-4 (NIV)

2 Aaron answered them, “Take off the gold earrings that your wives, your sons and your daughters are wearing, and bring them to me.” 3 So all the people took off their earrings and brought them to Aaron. 4 He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said, “These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”

Exodus 32:5 (KJV)

5 And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said,

“Tomorrow is a feast to the LORD”.

Question:

What Do You Need To Let Go Of?

Who Do You Need To Take Hold Of?

Hebrews 10:23-25

23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

When You’re Getting Through What You’re Going Through:

  1. Hold On To God’s PRESENCE and His PROMISES. (vs.23)

  • Get into His WORD more than you ever have before.

  • WORSHIP more than you ever have before.

  1. Hold On To God’s PEOPLE. (vs.24-25)

  1. Just HOLD ON. GOD is up to something.

Romans 8:28

8 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who  have been called according to his purpose.
