GOD IS WITH ME – 4

The Story of Joseph

God HEALS your past and He SECURES your future so you can find JOY in your present.

Genesis 45:1-2 (NLT) Joseph could stand it no longer. There were many people in the room, and he said to his attendants, “Out, all of you!” So he was alone with his brothers when he told them who he was. 2 Then he broke down and wept. He wept so loudly the Egyptians could hear him, and word of it quickly carried to Pharaoh’s palace.

1. DEAL with the PAST.

If you don’t DEAL WITH the pain of the past, you DEAL OUT that pain in your present.

Genesis 41:51-52 (NLT) Joseph named his older son Manasseh,[a] for he said, “God has made me forget all my troubles and everyone in my father’s family.” 52 Joseph named his second son Ephraim,[b] for he said, “God has made me fruitful in this land of my grief.”

2.  Find JOY in the PRESENT.  

“Distraction is the only thing that consoles us for miseries and yet itself is the greatest of our miseries.” – Blaise Pascal

Ecclesiastes 5:20 (MSG) God deals out joy in the present, the now.

 3. REST in God’s FUTURE.    

Genesis 45:4B-5 (NLT) And he said again, “I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into slavery in Egypt. But don’t be upset, and don’t be angry with yourselves for selling me to this place.  It was God who sent me here ahead of you to preserve your lives.”

God loves to PRESERVE and SAVE.

God is working AHEAD OF US.
