EASTER AT SAF
Luke 23:32-33 (NIV) Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him [Jesus]
to be executed. 33 When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him
there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left.
Luke 23:39 (NIV) One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t
you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
Luke 23:40-41 (NIV) But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said,
“since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting
what our deeds deserve. …”
Luke 23:41-42 (NIV) “We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds
deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me
when you come into your kingdom.”
Luke 23:43 (NIV) Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in
paradise.”
Ephesians 2:3-5, 8-9 (NIV) … Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.
4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with
Christ even when we were dead in transgressions … 8 For it is by grace you have been
saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by
works, so that no one can boast.
Psalm 103:10-12 (NLT) He [God] does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal
harshly with us, as we deserve. 11 For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as
great as the height of the heavens above the earth. 12 He has removed our sins as far
from us as the east is from the west.
