Key truth… God’s purpose for me is not about
what I can GET, but what I can GIVE.
Mark 12:30 “ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul
and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
Romans 12:2 “This is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the
pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good,
pleasing and perfect will.”
1. Think like a MANAGER not an
OWNER.
I Corinthians 6:20 “YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN; you were bought at a
price.”
Everything you have came from God.
Psalm 24:1 “The earth is the Lords and everything in it”
James 1:17 “every good and perfect gift comes from above”
HOW CAN I STEWARD MY LIFE IN A WAY THAT HONORS MY OWNER?
2. Think like a FARMER not a
CONSUMER
2 Corinthians 9:10-12 “Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for
food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the
harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that
you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will
result in thanksgiving to God. 12 This service that you perform is not only
supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many
expressions of thanks to God.
A. He supplies BREAD:
verse 10 “he supplies bread for food.”
God wants to meet your need. He wants you to have what you need to
live.
Philippians 4:19 “He will supply all your needs according to his glorious
riches in Christ Jesus.”
B. He supplies SEED.
verse 10 “He supplies seed to the sower.”
Verse 10 “enlarge our harvest.”
We have to learn to understand the difference between bread and seed.
3. Think on the ETERNAL not the
TEMPORAL
SO MANY PEOPLE ONLY THINK ABOUT THE TEMPORARY PART of
their life but never give any thought to the eternal.

2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of
Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the THINGS DONE
while IN THE BODY, whether good or bad.”
I Corinthians 3:12-15 “If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver,
costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is,
because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire
will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built
survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will
suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through
the flames.”
Mark 12:30-31 “ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The
second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no
commandment greater than these.”
