AGAINST ALL ODDS – 8
Your Will, God’s Will

James 4:13-14 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will travel
to such and such a city and spend a year there and do business and make
a profit.” 14 Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring ​— ​what your life
will be! For you are like vapor that appears for a little while, then vanishes.
 There is no sin in planning out our life, but there is in leaving God out
of the planning.
James 4:15-17 Instead, you should say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and
do this or that.” 16 But as it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting
is evil. 17 So it is sin to know the good and yet not do it.

Three keys to building God’s Kingdom, not ours:

1. Make it more about others than me.

2. Make sure that God is in control of our:
o Time
o Purpose
o Place
o Goals
o Reward
3. Make decisions based on eternity, more than finances.

Final thought: Prayerlessness may just be our greatest sin because of
what it says about who we think is really in charge.
