AGAINST ALL ODDS – 11
How to be Patient
7 Therefore, brothers and sisters, be patient until the Lord’s coming.
See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth and is patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains. 8 You also must be patient.
1. Do all YOU CAN DO while you wait for God to do what ONLY HE can do.
8…Strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near.
9 Brothers and sisters, do not complain about one another, so that you will not be judged. Look, the judge stands at the door!
Ephesians 4:1-3 …live worthy of the calling you have received, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
2. Refuse to do your waiting in ISOLATION – we need EACH OTHER.
10 Brothers and sisters, take the prophets who spoke in the Lord’s name as an example of suffering and patience. 11 See, we count as blessed those who have endured.
You have heard of Job’s endurance and have seen the outcome that the Lord brought about — the Lord is compassionate and merciful.
12 Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.
3. Stay faithful and stay hopeful because JESUS IS WORTH IT!
