Think on These
Series: Philippians

Frank Foreman
We live in a world full of distractions that threaten to rob our focus from becoming and being who God has called us to be. It can be beneficial from time to time to take inventory of where that focus is for us. Are we thinking about, meditating on, and/or considering the things that God would list as His greatest desires for us or do we tend to allow our thoughts and imaginations to be more worldly in their scope? --------------- This week, Frank continues to look at Philippians 4, specifically on the very familiar teaching of Paul concerning what we should be thinking about and setting our minds on in our daily walk.

Big Idea: Reject everything that draws us away from God...
And focus on things that draw us closer.
Colossians 3:2, Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
1. Transform to God’s will.
Romans 12:2, Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
2. Store up eternal treasures.
Matthew 6:19, Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal...
3. Trust in the Lord.
Proverbs 29:25, The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is safe.
Next Step: Test what you regularly watch, listen to, and read...
Change the things that do not draw your heart closer to God.
