Ever had the desire to find out more about your past? Ever wonder what secrets your ancestry might hold? Famous people? Royalty? Of course, there is the other side of that coin as well. Maybe you might find "infamous" people in your lineage. You might uncover an embarrassing family secret. When it came to genealogies, Jesus had his share of all of the above. So why share some of the embarrassing details of His earthly family? Because even in those stories, there is value is seeing how God can take the broken and make it part of His divine plan.

God is most glorified when He uses BROKEN VESSELS
1. I am not discarded because of past impropriety.
Rahab the prostitute… Called out of darkness to reveal Gods glory through her kindness.
2. I am not dishonored because of presumed inferiority.
Ruth the refugee… Called out of darkness to reveal God’s glory through her devotion.
3. I am not disgraced because of perceived indiscretion.
Bathsheba the adulterer… Called out of darkness to reveal God’s glory through her faithfulness.
1st Peter 2:9, But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
I am not what I have done, the stuff I have accumulated, or what people say about me ... I am a beloved child of God.
CHALLENGE: Identify any areas of darkness in your life and leave them behind…
Then tell someone about the goodness of God.
