Series: Seek & Save
June 02, 2019
In this message, Frank continues the series traveling through the book of Luke. This week, the scene shifts as the narrative moves into the seventh chapter of Luke. In this passage, the text reveals that often the level of our appreciation, love and worship can be greatly affected by the level of the love and forgiveness we have received from our Heavenly Father. Of course, we all have the ability to offer such heartfelt worship since we have all been forgiven of so much. On this week, we will discover an example of such worship and find application for our own lives.
Great love comes from great forgiveness…
Express great love through great worship.
1. Be intentional in worship
--She thoughtfully came prepared
Ecclesiastes 5:1, Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil.
2. Be sincere in worship
--She spontaneously rained down tears
Isaiah 29:13, And the Lord said: “Because this people draw near with their mouth and honor Me with their lips, while their hearts are far from Me…
3. Be extravagant in worship
--She generously offered a costly gift
2nd Samuel 24:24, But the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will buy it from you for a price. I will not offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God that cost me nothing.”
- Is my love for God great?
- Have I experienced His great forgiveness?
