Matthew 22:37-40, And He said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” ---------- Last week, we opened up this series of messages with a eye toward worship. One of the things Frank emphasized in his message was that the purpose of the church is to glorify our Lord. One of the ways that we do that was indeed through worship, but we can also accomplish that through out ministry and service to and for others. The way that we do that is by a demonstration of God’s love as our circumstances dictate to us and as the Holy Spirit convicts and guides us.

The purpose of the church is to glorify our Lord.
Romans 11:36, For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen.
Glory: The most important, significant, prominent, priority in our lives…
That is what we hold in the position of glory.
Big Idea: We glorify our Lord by demonstrating God’s love through ministry.
Mark 10:43-45, But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.
Humility: Others first.
Service: Sacrifice self.
1. Demonstrate God’s love in word.
1st Corinthians 9:16, For if I preach the Gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel!
2. Demonstrate God’s love in deed.
1st Corinthians 9:22-23, To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the Gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.
Psalm 37:4, Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart.
