Matthew 28:18-20, And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” ————— We continue our series of messages over the purpose of the church and the roles that God has called us to in fulfilling that purpose. This week our focus turns to evangelism—glorifying God by communicating His Word. As we consider the opportuities we have for sharing the Gospel with others, our calling leads to an inevitable question: “What am I willing to commit to, invest in, and sacrifice for to see that the Good News about Jesus reaches others?”

The purpose of the church is to glorify our Lord.
Romans 11:36, For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen.
Glory: The most important, significant, prominent, priority in our lives…
That is what we hold in the position of glory.
Big Idea: We glorify our Lord by communicating God’s Word through evangelism.
Matthew 3:2 & 4:17, From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
Bad News: We deserve death.
Good News: God offers life.
Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1. (Through evangelism) Communicate God’s Word around the world.
Acts 8:4, Now those who were scattered went about preaching the Word.
2. (Through evangelism) Communicate God’s Word across the street.
John 4:39, Many Samaritans from that town believed in Him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me all that I ever did.”
Acts 1:8, But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
