September 20, 2020
Frank Foreman
In this next message, we are introduced to one of the primary characters from the Exodus narrative, specifically on God's call to him to deliver his people from the land of Egypt. As God outlines His plan to Moses, it leads to big questions from Moses--questions about his ability and viability to be the man for the job. God provides even bigger answers about God's plan is accomplished, not only for Israel and Moses, but for us today as well.
Episode Notes
BIG IDEA:
God is the answer to every important question in life... Start asking the important questions.
1. Moses asked: Who am I?
God answered: I will be with you.
Exodus 3:11, But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”
- Our existence is completely dependent on God’s presence in our lives.
2nd Corinthians 5:17, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Romans 6:4, We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
2. Moses asked: Who are You?
God answered: I Am Who I Am.
Exodus 3:13, Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?”
- God’s existence is not dependent on anyone or anything.
Revelation 1:8, “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Psalm 50:21, These things you have done, and I have been silent; you thought that I was one like yourself. But now I rebuke you and lay the charge before you.
NEXT STEP:
Conform to God, don’t expect Him to conform to you.
