As the newly birthed church of Acts 2 begins their new chapter, it is clear what not only created the opportunity for growth and strength was the remarkable devotion they had to the basics of their faith in Christ and to each other!

Acts 2:47, And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
Acts 2:42-47, And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
First Church RESULTS come from first Church DEVOTION
1. Devoted to WORSHIP
Verse 42, And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
2nd Peter 1:19, And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
2. Devoted to GENEROSITY
Verses 44-45, And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.
2nd Corinthians 8:14, Your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness.
3. Devoted to FELLOWSHIP
Verses 46-47, And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people.
2nd Corinthians 11:3, But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
CHALLENGE: Be devoted to the OPPORTUNITIES provided in our new SCHEDULE …
Pray that God adds DEPTH before He adds WIDTH
