What is taking the Lord's name in vain? | The Ten Commandments

When we hear someone say "don't take the Lord's name in vain" we may instantly think of using it as a swear word. But is there a deeper meaning than that? What does that command really mean? In part three of "The Ten Commandments", Pastor Jon reveals that the third commandment has a lot more to it than meets the eye. As Christians we aren't just called to honor God by not using His name in a verbally negative way - we are being asked to live our entire lives out in a way that doesn't demean the glory and power of God. Because His spirit is living in us, we are a reflection of Him to the world and must set a good example for His name by acting in the ways He's called us to.
