Broken before Blessing

Jacob found himself in a foreign land, called by God to return home, where his murderous brother Esau waited. Obedient to the call, Jacob meets a stranger who wrestles with him and breaks his hip. It is in this broken condition that Jacob finds the blessing of God. Might it be that what you are going through now is God breaking you down, so you deny self and every worldly method of achieving God's blessings? You too like Jacob can be broken so you never lean on the arm of the flesh for God's blessings.
