Episode Notes

This is part three of a three part series on Christian Leadership.  The principles gleaned from scripture that guide a Church leader should also guide a person who serves as a leader in the community that names Jesus as Lord. This sermon will focus on two major passages of scripture from the Old Testament that warns leaders first of all that they will be held accountable for the way they either tend or devour those placed in their care (See Ezekiel 34).  Ezekiel writes metaphorically using sheep as shepherds to represent leaders and people.

Lastly we will conclude this sermon series and sermon with some encouragement from King David from the 23rd Psalm.

From the New Testament we will examine Paul’s encouragement from Colossians 3:23-25, “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality."

Scriptures used:

I Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1: 5-16; Ezekiel 34; Psalm 23; 2 Timothy 5:17; Colossians 3:23-25
