Forgetting God

Episode Notes

The church has gone through numerous changes over the last 2,000 years.  What started off to be a simple faith in God through belief in His Son Jesus has morphed into denominationalism, varying forms of doctrine which stretch at pure message of scripture, and the labeling of those who do not interpret the same as we.  Right wing, left wing, conservative, liberal, charismatic, fundamentalist, Catholic, and New Age are all descriptions of who Christians are and what they believe.  What is missing in all these descriptions is that God through His Son is the focal point.  Somewhere, somehow, someplace we have forgotten God.

What I am saying is that our history has been more focused on debating and arguing our unique slants on holiness, the trinity, baptism, the role of women in the church, or any of hundreds of things that have caused the church to become fractured.

The Pastor postulates that getting back to hungering and thirsting after righteousness (Matthew 5:6), righteousness being the Lord Himself, and desperately seeking the Spirit of God, who gives life, will make us into the people He can use to accomplish His will on Earth.  His will being going onto all the world and making disciples of all nations.  Singing, praying, communing, preaching, giving, and whatever we do, we must do to the glory of God and with Him as our focus.
