What's for Dinner?

FOOD spans entirety of Bible; God created it; we need it!

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food…” Gen. 1:29

“Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you.

Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.” Genesis 9:3 

…a great multitude…shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns… Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”   Revelation 19:6-9 

Food reminds us of God’s FAITHFULNESS and PROVISION.

 Taste and see that the LORD is good… Psalm 34:8a

(God) makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate-- bringing forth food from the earth: wine that gladdens human hearts, oil to make their

faces shine, and bread that sustains their hearts.” Psalm 104:10-15

“When the hour came, Jesus and His apostles reclined at the table. And He said to them, ‘I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.’ …  

And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying,

‘This is My body given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ … ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is poured out for you.’” Luke 22:14-20

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the

breaking of bread and to prayer…All the believers were together and had everything in common…Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts.

They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added

to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42-47

(LORD) “humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that people do not live on bread alone but on every Word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.” Dt. 8:3

Food is a Huge Part of OUR ETERNAL CELEBRATION!

“On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine-- the best of meats and the finest of wines…

He will swallow up death forever…wipe away the tears from all faces…remove His people’s disgrace from all the earth. The LORD has spoken. In that day they will say, ‘Surely this is our God; we trusted in Him, and He saved us. This is the LORD,

we trusted in Him; let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.” Isaiah 25:6-9
