I AM THE ALPHA & OMEGA

Pastor Chuck Bernal March 26, 2017

The Lord says, I am Alpha and Omega, the one who is and was and is coming. I am God All-Powerful! . . . Write down what I have said. My words are true and can be trusted. Everything is finished! I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end… I am coming soon! And when I come, I will reward everyone for what they have done.  I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. (Revelation 1:8 , 21:6, 22:12-13 – CEV)

The first letter in the Greek alphabet is Alpha and it makes the very same sound as our letter “A.” Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet. All of the ancient Greek knowledge is contained within that alphabet, just as it is with our English alphabet where all knowledge is contained within A to Z. If you have a dictionary or an encyclopedia, think about the fact that all of our knowledge is basically found within these pages, beginning with the letter A all to the way to Z. Because Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, He is the beginning of all things and the end of all things. He is everything, A to Z and all things in between. He is the consummation of the entire Greek Alphabet meaning that He is all and in all and Creator of all.

JESUS IS THE ALPHA & OMEGA FOR MY ETERNITY

Before anything else existed, there was Christ, with God. He has always been alive and is himself God.  He created everything there is—nothing exists that he didn’t make. (John 1:1-3 – LB)

Christ is the exact likeness of the unseen God. He existed before God made anything at all, and, in fact, Christ himself is the Creator who made everything, the things we can see and the things we can’t . . . all were made by Christ for his own use and glory. He was before all else began and it is his power that holds everything together. He is the Head of the body made up of his people—that is, his Church—which he began; and the first to come back to life so that he is first in everything. (Colossians 1:15-18 – LB)

Melchizedek was without a father or mother or any family. He had no beginning of life or end of life. He is forever like the Son of God.  (Hebrews 7:3 – NLV)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8 – LB)

JESUS IS THE ALPHA & OMEGA FOR MY SALVATION

When the right time arrived, God sent His Son into this world to be born of a woman. (Galatians 4:4 – Voice)

The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood . . . John pointed him out and called, “This is the One! The One I told you was coming after me but in fact was ahead of me. He has always been ahead of me, has always had the first word.” (John 1:14-15 - Msg)

Long ago . . . God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. (Hebrews 1:1-3 – ESV)

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2 – BRG Bible)

I finished the work you gave me to do. I brought you glory on earth . . . Jesus said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and died. (John 17:4, 19:30 – ICB/GWT)

His works have been finished since the foundation of the world. (Hebrew 4:3 – HCSB)

Our salvation began in the _________________ and ended on the _________________

We believe that the very beginning and end of salvation, and the sum of Christianity, consists of faith in Christ, who by His blood alone, and not by any works of ours, has put away sin, and destroyed the power of death. (Martin Luther)

JESUS IS THE ALPHA & OMEGA FOR MY LIFE

Do not despise this small beginning, for the eyes of the Lord rejoice to see the work begin . . .  (Zechariah 4:10 – LB)

And even if your beginning was small, your end will be very great.  (Job 8:7 – NLV)

Think about this. Wrap your minds around it. Take it to heart. Remember your history, your long and rich history. I am God, the only God you’ve had or ever will have — incomparable, irreplaceable. From the very beginning telling you what the ending will be, all along letting you in on what is going to happen, assuring you, “I’m in this for the long haul, I’ll do exactly what I set out to do”. I’ve said it, and I’ll most certainly do it. I’ve planned it, so it’s as good as done. (Isaiah 46:8-9 – Msg)

Jesus gives you the beginning (ALPHA) you need that will take you to the ending (OMEGA) He has planned for you.

Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you.  (Jeremiah 1:5 – Msg)

God is the one who began this good work in you, and I am certain that he won’t stop before it is complete on the day that Christ Jesus returns.  (Philippians 1:6 – CEV)

God began doing a good work in you. And he will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again. I am sure of that.  (Philippians 1:6 – ICB)
