APPLICATIONS:
(James 1:1-8) When faced with a challenge (trial) this week, stop and do two things. Ask God for wisdom, believing confidently He will provide it. Rejoice that your endurance of this challenge, no matter how big or small, will produce patience in your life. Note how this changes your response to the challenge and your perspective of the challenge.
(James 3:13-18) When tempted to complain or criticize (bittern envy and strife) at work or home this week, think instead about what kind of wisdom you could offer that corresponds to that described in 3:17.
(James 5:7-12) Identify an area in your life where you need to be patient and wait on the Lord. This could be something you have prayed about and given up on or simply grown impatient with. Pray about it and thank God in advance that He will act in His perfect wisdom and timing.
