EVERY WAY OF A MAN is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart. ~ Proverbs 21:2

Dear Friends:

In this proverb, the Biblical Sage draws our attention to a truth that we try to avoid at all costs...

The truth...

• That fallen human beings often have a faulty perception of reality. 

EVERY WAY OF A MAN is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart. ~ Proverbs 21:2

The wise man notes...

• That sin darkens and impairs the intellect...
• That you and I have a frightening capacity for erroneous judgment and self-deception

EVERY WAY OF A MAN is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart. ~ Proverbs 21:2

But, this godly man warns us 

• That our perception of ourselves  is often faulty — 

And that God’s evaluation 

• Of good and evil actions is 
• In perfect accord with reality...

As the holy prophet Jeremiah declares:

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately corrupt; who can understand it? 

"I the LORD search the mind and try the heart, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings." (Jeremiah 17:9-10)

FOR THIS REASON, THE APOSTLE PAUL confesses that 

EVEN THOUGH I AM NOT AWARE of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me. (1 Corinthians 4:4)

AS A RESULT, those who say today that

“the primacy of conscience... must always be respected, with the exclusive autonomy of an individual with respect to his or her relations.”

REVEAL THROUGH THEIR WORDS that they have rejected the revelation of God through the inspired Sage and the holy Apostle!

BUT YOU, DEAR FRIENDS:

LET US NOT FOLLOW after this false teaching...

RATHER, LET US TAKE TO HEART the counsel of the Ancient Sage and the Saintly Apostle of Jesus Christ ...

• AND AS WE COME to receive in our persons the Body, Blood...etc
• LET US ASK GOD TO GIVE US the wisdom to bring our thoughts and judgments into conformity to 
• HIS thoughts and judgments in every way!

AND IN THE DAY OF JUDGMENT...MAY OUR HEARTS not be found wanting! When GOD weighs them in the Balance!
