OUR WORSHIP An earthly expression of a heavenly assembly. Essential components of our worship 1 Adoration 2 Confession A Confessing our sin in prayer. B Confessing our salvation in baptism. 3 Instruction 4 Communion A We remember the body and blood of Jesus. B We reflect on our sin and on His promises (we feast on His forgiveness of us and His faithfulness to us!). C We renew our commitment to Christ and each other. D We rejoice because He has set us free… and He is coming back. 3 Intercession 4 Commission Central characteristics of our worship… 1 Divine revelation… A Worship involves a rhythm of revelation and response. 2 Community participation… B We are a community of worshipers, not an audience of spectators. 3 Reverent affection… C Worship is the awe-filled response of our hearts to the presence of God. 4 Dedicated attention… A Come prepared. B Come eager. C Be here early. D Stay to the end. OUR CHURCH… An earthly outpost of a heavenly kingdom. 1 The setup… A A divine word from a chosen apostle. B A struggling church with a young pastor. 2 We want our worship to be God-centered. . A He is our Savior. B He is our Hope. C He is our Father. D He is our Lord. 3 We want our community to be gospel-formed. A The gospel defines what we believe. B The gospel affects how we pray. C The gospel determines how we lead. D The gospel changes how we relate to one another. E The gospel revolutionizes how we view possessions. D The gospel drives how we do mission.
