For whatever the Father[a] does, that the Son does likewise. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel. 21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he will. 22 For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, 23 that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. 24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

•Jesus claims to be God in five ways
1. He claims
to be equal with God in nature, or essence (v17)
2. He
claims to be equal with God in works. (v.19-20. )
3. He
never stopped working.( Just as God the father does)
4. He
has unlimited knowledge ( V. 21-22)
5. He
does what the Father does the way the Father does it exactly. (v.24)
1.John
14:31, “So that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the
Father commanded Me, exactly.”
2.What
God does, Jesus does. What Jesus does, God does.
3.To
accuse Jesus of sin is to accuse God of Sin.

•II. The Father loves the son with a
love that is incomprehensible.
1.At the heart of redemption is God’s
love…the Father’s love for the Son and the Son’s love for the Father.
2.The whole purpose is so that God
can collect a bride to give to His Son a bride that’s an expression of His
love.
3.John 17:24 Father, I desire that
they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory
that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world
