And if a serpent bit anyone, he would look at the bronze serpent and live. (Numbers 21:4-9) 1 A Sinful People A They distrusted God’s guidance, They traveled “along the route to the Red Sea, to go around Edom” (Num. 21:4) B They blasphemed God’s greatness. “They spoke against God and against Moses” (Num. 21:5). C They doubted God’s goodness. D They spurned God’s generosity. E They despised God’s gifts.
