The Lord’s Prayer – Part 2 LISTEN ON MIXLR @  https://gbcsl.mixlr.com   WATCH US ON YOU TUBE LIVE @ http://www.youtube.com/gracechurch-slus/live  MATTHEW  6:9-11 Pray then like this:“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.[a] 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done,[b] on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread,[c] I. Our Father (Mat.6:9) God isn’t everyone’s Father! 15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” (Rom 8:15)  2. You’re not the only child in the family! 34 So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, (Acts 10:34 Because we have a heavenly Father that means: We have someone we can trust! We have someone that will provide! “32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.. (Mat.6:32-33). “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him” (Mat.7:11)? We have someone that will protect! We have someone that’s available anytime we call! 4. We have someone that will discipline! Hebrews 12:6-11 6 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.” 7 It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9 Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. 11 For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. II.  Which Art In Heaven (Mat.6:9) This is where our prayers are to be directed! “The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules overall. (Ps.103:19). Because He’s in heaven He has power over things in the earth! 16 For by[a] him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Col.1:16-17). III.  Hallowed Be Thy Name (Mat.6:9) Because He is in heaven His name is to be “hallowed”! Hallow – to set something apart as unique or special. 2. We Praise Him because of who he is  3. You don’t need to know all his names to know God IV.  Thy Kingdom Come (Mat.6:10) This is the first “request” AND should be the FOCUS of our requests! “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” (Rom.14:17). 2. It’s through prayer that we tap into victory, healing, deliverance Thy Will Be Done In Earth As It Is In Heaven (Mat.6:10)… There are 4 wills that struggle for the mans obedience: Man’s own will (Rom.12:1-2; Ro.7:15; Gal.5:17) Other men’s will (1Pet.4:2) Satan’s will (Jn.8:44) God’s will (Eph.5:15-17; Ph.2:13; 1jn.2:17) Three aspects to God’s will: Comprehensive will – His far-reaching plan for His creation.  Nothing will prevent what God has ordered to happen. Perfect will – Has to do with what He desires for us.  He’s not willing that any perish, etc. Submissive will – It’s what He allows because He’s given us a choice. How is God’s will done in heaven? Immediately – not one second transpires. Perfectly – no debate or confusion but full conformity to the will of God. Absolutely – There’s nobody in heaven with a will independent or in conflict. The difference between doing “His” will and “your” will: When you do HIS will you THEN get to pray for His daily bread, His forgiveness, and His deliverance from temptation. When you do YOUR will you get to find your own bread, deal with your own sins, and try and protect yourself from the devil’s attacks. 4 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. (1Jn.5:14-15). Grace Baptist Podcast HTTPS://PODPOINT.COM/GRACE-BAPTIST-CHURCH-OF-SECOND-LIFE-PODCAST

2. It’s through prayer that we tap into victory, healing, deliverance

Thy Will Be Done In Earth As It Is In Heaven (Mat.6:10)…
There are 4 wills that struggle for the mans obedience:
Man’s own will (Rom.12:1-2; Ro.7:15; Gal.5:17)
Other men’s will (1Pet.4:2)
Satan’s will (Jn.8:44)
God’s will (Eph.5:15-17; Ph.2:13; 1jn.2:17)
Three aspects to God’s will:
Comprehensive will – His far-reaching plan for His creation.

The difference between doing “His” will and “your” will:
When you do HIS will you THEN get to pray for His daily bread, His forgiveness, and His deliverance from temptation.
