•II. The Requirements of Mercy

and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matt 6:12-15

12 But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Matt 9:12-13

•22 And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.” Matthew 15:22
•33 And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?’ 34 And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers,[a] until he should pay all his debt.  Matthew 18:33-34
•11 Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfat. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful. James 5:11

•III. Mercy Expressed
1.Mercy can be expressed in our lives through intercessory prayer for others
2.The very act of prayer will always be connected to the mercy of God.
1. and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. (Matthew 6:12.
2. 14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15
