When a person excepts Jesus Christ as their Lord their old sinful self die on the cross with Christ, so they became a new creation and are placed in the family of God . yet their is habits, thoughts , feelings , and desires in them which came from having been that old unborn again person and it often get's in the way of them being able to fully know that new person that they have become though excepting Christ . That is why Romans 12:2 tell us to be transformed by the renewing of the mind . it gives you an upgrade in your thought life to the brand new person that you have became when you made Jesus Christ your new Lord and master .
