The Tree of Life is a symbolic/mystical concept that is found in many religions. In Christianity our Bible mentions the Tree of Life right at the very beginning in Genesis and returns to it at the end in Revelation. The Tree of Life symbolizes our interconnectedness with all things, and the fullness of life itself. 30 churches in Lincoln have joined in an effort this month called “Faith to Forest.” Every major faith tradition includes a call to care about, and for, creation and our fellow humans, and trees play an important role in creation and in the lives of people. Faith to Forest is an initiative to celebrate trees and act on our responsibility to care for them, particularly in a changing climate. Join us this weekend as we worship as we celebrate creation and our role as caretakers.
