Jesus walked up a mountain, looked upon the people and began to teach us to love thine enemies, turn the other cheek and refuse no one help. It's as if by taking us up that mountain he is trying to take us to the very pinnacle of morality. It becomes a peak experience of the ethical imagination and we have entered the rarified air of complete non-violence and compassion.
